Preguntas Frecuentes

What topics does the final exam cover?

The exam covers all volume and surface area topics, including rectangular prisms (boxes), cubes, cylinders, spheres, pyramids, cones, dimensions conversions, and real-world ratio word problems.

How is the final exam graded?

The exam consists of 10 sections with 4 questions each (40 questions total). Each correct question yields 2.5 points, for a maximum score of 100.

Why do the bases of composite structures cancel out in surface area calculation?

In a composite structure, the contact base where the two structures meet is covered up and is not part of the outer surface area for either the box or the top structure. Thus, we subtract it twice (once for each shape). This subtraction cancels out the cylinder or cone bases exactly, allowing us to find the total surface area by only using the lateral curved area of the top shape.
